Man, we were so stoked we were going to the Magic Kingdom! The night before, we had to make a reservation with their shuttle to come pick us up at 8:00am the next morning. I guess that's what Disney World visitors have to do at this specific hotel. We totally got ready super early, went down to the lobby, bought our Magic Kingdom tickets, indulged in some continental breakfast and waited at the front. We were kind of worried because it was 8:00am and no shuttle...so we waited 5 more minutes and then I asked the concierge if the shuttle going to Disney World was running a little late. They asked us if we had a reservation and I was like, "Yeah..."
She checked a book and was like, "Well looks like there's no reservation made." My heart was pounding and I just wanted to yell "WHAT?!?!?!" but I calmly said..."Well, we made a reservation with the concierge last night and they said they would put us down in the book."
She was so sweet, she responded (with lots of sass), "Well I dunno WHAT they were doin' last night!" DIVA!!! Haha, so she made a phone call. She said we'd take the same shuttle that we took to Universal and that shuttle will take us to Disney World and drop us off at Epcot. Whew!
So, we waited with another couple. I think they were from South Dakota or somewhere that was freezing cold because they mentioned on how awesome the weather was in Orlando and that they were extremely glad that they weren't dealing with snow. Monique made a comment on how it was rainy and stormy where we lived.
The shuttle dropped them off at Universal and then she drove off. We thought she was going to drop us off at Epcot, but instead, she dropped us off at another hotel, where we had to get off and board another shuttle. This shuttle made about 3 or 4 stops picking up tons of people. By the time he was done picking people up, the shuttle was so full, that people had to stand.
We made it to Epcot and then we couldn't stop taking pictures in front of the big golf ball. It was cute because I asked a lady if she could take a picture of us. She was super nice but she was also taking her time trying to get us the perfect picture.
I looked around for her and she was walking in the other direction towards a ferry boat. She was like, "LOOK! You can take a Ferry!!!!!!" I was in awe because I didn't even see that there. So, we totally took the Ferry boat to the Magic Kingdom!
We could see the Disney World Resort from the boat and of course, the castle. Eek! It was taking a while to get there. We were getting so antsy, I think at one point we were getting so frustrated that we were like, "Man, we should have taken the monorail!"
We finally get there and man, it sure does have a different feel from Disneyland (BTW, when you're in Orlando, Disneyland is called the Magic Kingdom, haha. You'll get corrected if you don't use the right name). Anyway, Main Street was definitely different. It seemed older than our park.
I've always wanted to buy Minnie ears and I just thought, "Doggarnit, I'm gonna buy them this time!" Monique helped me pick some out and we did jumping pictures in front of the park. We also wanted to buy a picture of us in front of the castle so we asked one of the photographers to take our picture.
The guy took a normal picture of us, and then he had us pose holding hands, with our opposite hand pointed out like we're going, "Tada!" and he had our toes pointed out like ballerinas. We were thinking, "Whoa, this picture is going to be nuts! They're probably going to Photoshop some costumes on us and we'll probably have Disney characters dancing around us!" Not gonna lie, it was an awkward pose but we couldn't wait to see the results. It was fun comparing everything in the Magic Kingdom to our park. Of course, their castle is taller and looked a little pinkish. It was very beautiful. Tomorrow Land seemed more retro. Like we timed warped into 1989. I guess ours feels a lot more modern...I dunno, hard to explain.

We couldn't believe we just walked right into Space Mountain. It was super fun! It reminded me of our Space Mountain before they did the renovation. It was a lot clunkier, but it was still fast and a lot of fun. As soon as we got off, we decided to ride it again because there was no line. It was funny because before we took off into the ride again, the lady at the control panel was all, "Back for more huh?" We were like, "Yeah, you can never just walk right into Space Mountain!"
Oh yeah! Monique had lost her voice from all the thrill the day before. So when she talked she sounded pretty raspy and everyone thought she was sick. Every time someone asked her, "What happened to your voice?!" I'd say, "Too much thrill!"
We got hungry and we had some chicken meals at one of the diners in Tomorrow Land. There was an electronic monster singing some jazz music. It was cute. I remember our feet still hurting from the day before (I know mine was)! After we ate, we did Buzz Lightyear (Monique annihilated me) and then we did the Monster's Inc. Laugh Factory which was a show where different Monsters did stand up comedy on stage.
Most of the jokes would come from the audience. While waiting to be seated, they encourage you to text a joke to them for the show. That joke would then be told to the audience by one of the comedians. They also choose random people in the audience by shining a huge spotlight on them, and ask them questions or make them do silly things that would be displayed on the huge monitors around the venue. They also made fun of people on the monitor. Very Rated-G humor though, nothing too mean.
Fantasy Land was really cute. It seemed a lot more open than ours. We rode Snow White and Peter Pan. I think they're pretty much the same as Disneyland's.
"It's a Small World" was super different!
And so was Haunted Mansion in Liberty Square (the name of the Land it was in). The ride itself had the same beginning (different paintings though) and had a couple of different rooms that ours doesn't have. One of the rooms, for instance, had staircases going up, upside down, sideways, and they glowed in the dark. I loved it!
This was Liberty Square. The Disneyland equivalent would be New Orleans.
And they had a Christmas store!
There was no Indiana Jones ride and Thunder Mountain was broken. Boo! Next up we really wanted to ride Pirates. I remember Adventure Land being so bright and colorful!
I just remember Pirate's being SUPER short!!! There was only one measly drop (wa wa waaaah). Then it takes you past like 2 caves and then right into the 2 pirate ships battling each other, into Tartuga where "Yo Ho Yo Ho" starts. Like I said, it was really short. So, it was kinda disappointing.
Then we went on Jungle Cruise. Our guide looked just like Ugly Betty and she had the cutest accent! I always enjoy that ride especially the guide's sarcastic and careless comedic anecdotes.
After that, Monique wanted to buy some ice cream. While eating our ice cream, I get a call from Bank of America asking me if I'd made a purchase from Orbitz.com. I told them no, and so they took care of the charges, closed my account and sent me a new Visa. I worried for a second, but they did a great job of assuring me that everything would be taken care of. We also talked to Ashley for a bit and we filled her in a bit on our day at Disney World.
We wanted to go check on our photos, so on our way out of Adventure Land, there was a parade going on. It was very crowded and we couldn't see, so we just decided to go through the gift shops down Main Street to get to the Theater where our photographs were. We stopped in some of the gift shops and when we came out, we were all of a sudden, front row watching the parade. We made it into the courtyard and so we got to watch the parade circle all around us, with not one person disturbing our view! Some of the characters would walk up to the kids, at one point Monique and I got scared because Jafar walked right up to us and he looked so evil!
There was also a live performance at the castle involving all the Princesses and their Princes, along with Mickey and his whole gang.
After all that, we checked out our photographs. The lady who helped us was so unenthusiastic. When she explained the photo deals to us we just weren't following her. She was just really confusing. I think she was getting frustrated with us.
Anyway, when she pulled up the picture with the really awkward pose where the photographer had us hold hands. We were surprised that nothing was done to it! No costumes, no nothing! She said (divatastically), "He made you pose like that?!" And we were like, "Yeah! We thought you guys were going to do some effects or something!" She just smirked and shook her head slow....For shame.... I bet she was thinking, "You been had."
She went through all the different frames and digital stamps you could put on your photos. She even put us in a frame that said, "Just engaged!" I was thinking, "What the hell, do they think we're lesbians or something?!" First the pose of us holding hands and then this frame? Haha...so silly! We didn't like any of her recommendations and she really didn't like our choices either. She made sure WE KNEW she didn't like them by her expressions and her occasional, "Uhhhh....okaaaaaaaay.....Whatever it's your picture." It was kinda funny because her sarcasm didn't offend me at all. I thought it would, but she was so natural being a Diva about everything. She wasn't being a bitch at all, she just didn't give a shit. It was quite entertaining.

It was really hard picking out a frame for the last photo, we took a while to make a decision. The lady looked bored. Then I remember Monique yelled out, "PANTS!!!" I was like, "WHAT?" and she was like, "The pants!!" Good thing the lady knew what she was talking about. It was a frame in the shape of Mickey's pants, so our picture was displayed on his belly, kinda. It was perfect! The lady didn't like that choice either. Anyway, she checked us out and we checked out the gift shops and bought some candy.
We wanted to do the People Movers to rest our aching feet (which temporarily broke down 3 or 4 times, one of those times was in complete darkness). Then we decided to board the train around the park. We saw the "Under Construction" Thunder Mountain and they were also working on another Land. That was pretty neat! We then finally decided it was time to leave and get ready for our flight home the next day.
It took us forever to get home! Monique had to pee and it probably had to be the most annoying ride of the whole trip. We were surrounded by assholes who did nothing but complain along with whiny children. They were all annoying! Monique and I wanted to punch them all in the face! We wanted off that shuttle so badly but we were the last to be dropped off and that sucked so bad.
When we finally got to our hotel, I wanted to see if the concierge knew of a reliable taxi company they could recommend to us. Thankfully they had their own Town Car and it was one flat fee! So awesome! Fuck cabs!
We dropped off our stuff in the room and headed over to TGIF for some well deserved drinks and dinner. It was super yummy. Then we went back to the room and got ready for our luggage for the long haul home!
We had such a fun time! Thanks for the memories, Orlando!
