Easter morning began kind of sad because I had to take Jasper to the vet. He had been drinking excessive amounts of water, not eating, peeing a ton and had been super lethargic. So, while at the vet they ran blood work but I wouldn't be able to find out the results until a week later. Update: Jasper's doing fine. They thought it might have been diabetes or kidney failure but the test came out negative to all those diseases and he's pretty much healthy, thank God! He's also been back to his old self eating and drinking like normal and has been slowly getting back to being active in the backyard (if Ptolemy would stop punking him) haha.
After I got home from Jasper's vet appointment on Easter morning, Andrew was already up and making coffee. He got ready and said he had to go to the store. When he got back, he told me to go in the bedroom and not to come out until he says because the Easter Bunny had arrived. Excitedly, I waited in the bedroom until he told me to come out. It was funny because he said he felt bad he didn't have an Easter egg basket for me, so I used a colander haha. I also asked him to take pictures of me because I wanted to share this on my blog. I'm super glad that I did!
I was about to go into the backyard and he stopped me. He said I should start in the front yard. Right away I saw plastic eggs, filled with treats, I couldn't wait to open them. So I found eggs here and there, and then I went through the side yard, found some more. It was pretty funny because Ptolemy got a hold of a white egg while Andrew was planting them but he ended up dropping it when Andrew chased him. So, we kept the dogs inside. They had to miss out on the fun, haha. I would miss eggs here and there and Andrew would say, "Boo" and nod his head in the directions of eggs that I missed. It was really cute. When we got to the backyard, he had also planted a big New Castle beer inside of an egg, well sort of. It looked like it hatched a beer, it was pretty awesome.
Then he had me count them and I told him there were 12 and he said, "Now, when I was a little kid, the last egg always was the best egg to find because it always had something special in it." When he said this, he was blocking the tree, so when I started to scan the backyard, I didn't see it until I moved away from him. And there it was, under the tree, a big pink egg with flowers on it that had Easter grass underneath it. I was preeeetttty excited because I thought there was going to be a $50 Forever 21 gift card in it.
So, I started to open it, and there was another egg. Then I opened that egg, and there was an even smaller egg inside. When I got to the final egg, it was kind of hard to open. It was really stuck! So I tried prying and yanking it open and rough housing it a little bit and then Andrew said, "Now be careful!" And that's when I thought, "Wait, why's he telling me to be careful? Omg...what's in here? Could it be what I think it could be? Uh oh..."
When I opened the last egg, it had a diamond ring in it and all I remember is gasping and freaking out (in my head I was just screaming, NO WAY, OMG OMG!), my heart was pumping out of my chest and I couldn't stop shaking. Tears started to fall as I watched Andrew get down on one knee, take the ring from me, held my hand, and asked me to marry him. And I lost it and just kept saying, "Yes!" over and over again. It was so wonderful!
Everything he planned, everything he said before he asked me to marry him will always remain fresh and cherished in my mind and heart. He even told me that he secretly went to ask for my Dad's blessing the day before. He said my Dad teared up when he asked him and that made me cry even more. That meant so much to me. He also said he'd been a complete wreck the last few days and man, did he hide it well! We took our time to soak up this emotional and wonderful moment. I remember it being quiet, the sky was blue and the sun was shining down on us right in front of the tree in the backyard.
This is pretty much the edited story. I originally wrote this post leaving out no details because I wanted to remember everything about that day and it's REEEAAAALLLLY LONG. Well, I ended up saving that one in my archives and decided to post a diluted version of it because I think we both came to an agreement that some details are just meant to be cherished between me and him :) I think this is why it's take me so long to post this.

Anyhoo :) It's been so fun calling him my Fiance instead of boyfriend, too, haha. He calls me his Fiance Pad Thai (from that one episode on the Mindy Project where Mindy gives herself a power name and decides that she would be called Beyonce Pad Thai). And I love it!
It's been hard getting off cloud nine knowing I'm one step closer to marrying my best friend. It's been such an amazing journey so far with my one and only and I can't wait to continue the adventure as husband and wife! Yay!

And the hunt begins!
Can you see Ptolemy in the window? Ha!
THIS IS WHEN THE PROPOSAL HAPPENED... =D
And here's pics after we soaked up the moment and composed ourselves...
He also stuffed chocolates in the eggs and one with a $5 bill haha!
