We took a day off in early June (the 6th to be exact) during the week to hang out in Ventura. It was a nice relaxing day and the weather was amazing. By the time we left Ventura, it was 60 degrees and I did not want to leave.
Here's a picture of Andrew serenading me, ha!
We yelped a coffee place called Beacon and it was pretty awesome. They have their own roasting plant in the back and it's wide open so if you were curious, you were more than welcome to check out their process. Andrew and the lady owner definitely hit it off, talking about coffee and what not and she ended up giving us our lattes for free and gave Andrew some records for free as well. He was frickin' stoked! The coffee is amazing and super flavorful. Andrew bought some beans and when we made it at home, it was so yummy we didn't even need to put cream or sugar in it. The cup was perfect as is!
Our beach trips always end with us on the pier, coffee and baked treats in hand and so when we found out about this tiny little bakery called Sticky Fingers that sold macarons, we were sold. They closed early so we headed to this place first. The owner just got done making red velvet cupcakes (which were amazing, btw) so of course, Andrew ordered a couple of those and two raspberry macarons for us to enjoy on our walk on the pier.
We walked up and down the block, checking out all the vintage/antique shops.
Grady's was just down the street so Andrew went there.
I was bored so I kept taking creep shots of him.
Then we were STARVING! So we went to this Thai Restaurant in Downtown called Rice Thai.
We were so hungry we couldn't even put our chop sticks down because we wanted to be ready to chow down as soon as the plates hit the table.
Andrew ordered Tom Kah Kai
And yellow curry with chicken of course.
I ordered Pad Kee Mao
Then we went to Rocket Fizz and bought a shitload of sweets. I checked out an Urban Outfitters while Andrew checked out more second hand stores and we met up later at this coffee shop called Palermo (which was pretty good). The birds are super ballsy there. They kept flying right past my face just to finish off pastries that were left on a newly empty table. I wanted to swat them but they were kind of cute. Just annoying. Damn bastards.
We found the closest pier, grabbed our pastries and we headed out to the ocean. It felt amazing! The weather was perfect, crisp and cold. Andrew was freezing his ass off because he forgot his jacket but I tried my best to keep him warm. It was super windy too, I felt like we were walking at a 5 degree angle just to push through it all on our walk back.

The last thing we did before we left Ventura was we went to Salzer's. I found some pretty funny things.
The "Wash Away Your Sins" soap was almost all out.
A "Must-stash." Get it? Ha.
Then we came home, drank some coffee, watched a movie and relaxed the night away.
Twas a good day! =)
That spread sounds appetizing! I bet you loved being able to wear your jacket!
