Before I went to pick her up that morning, Andrew had gone to work and he had left donuts on the counter that he got from Donut Friends in Los Angeles the day before. They looked so yummy and I wanted to devour them all, but I had the coconut one. The green stuff is dyed coconut, I thought it was kelp at first, but then I was like...kelp on a donut? Come on, Mae. Ha!
It was a nice drive. I always like taking trips with my Mom because we get to have some nice Mom and Daughter time in. The drive was breathtaking. She lives on a hill overlooking the coastline. I wish I could have stopped to take a picture but the road was very small and there was no place to park.
It was so cute seeing her so happy and giddy and when her other former classmates started to trickle in, the laughter and girly screaming started. They were all very nice and sweet, and one was a jokester, making everyone laugh the whole time.
Her friend booked reservations at a restaurant at Terrania, a resort that was down the hill from her house. I did not know what to expect but when we got closer, I could not believe how gorgeous everything was.
Friend to Mom: "You should take a picture with your daughter!"
Mom: "Naaaaaaaaah...I have plenty of pictures with her"
Me: "Really Mom?"
Mom: "Oh OK..."
It was funny because I became their photographer and I had a great time taking pictures for them because they were so silly!
This was a side view of Catalina Island. Beautiful!
The one in green was the jokester.
The restaurant we went to was called Bashi and it was an Asian fusion restaurant. Everything was amazing.

They're such a cute couple!
And the rest of the clan started met us at the restaurant.
It was cute. I probably heard the word "Pacebook" 100 times.
After lunch, we went back to her friends house and I took off to do some exploring on my own. Ended up me being stuck in traffic most of the time. But my Mom called me earlier than expected, so I headed back . She was ready to go home by 8pm. I guess when I left, they surprised my Mom (her birthday was the day before) with cake and a crown and they all sang Happy Birthday to her. That was so sweet of them!
Her friend is part of a gardening club and she had the most unique looking succulents! She was so kind enough to give me some babies so I can grow mother plants of my own. Here are some of them.
I really hope that they keep meeting up. They are such a nice group of people and I love seeing my Mom so happy.
