boom-boom: 2015 Recap Part 1

As I was backing up my photos recently, I couldn't believe how many photos I have accumulated and never shared. I had forgotten all about this blog so when I popped in to check up on it, I realized went over a year without blogging! Holy moly!

I'm not very good at making resolutions but I definitely want to make a better effort of documenting my days this year and hopefully the years after. And not just the big moments but the small, boring moments too. There's always something worth remembering every day. The joy is in the details :)

So cheers to the new year and to celebrate, I'm going to play a little catch up. I am going to do a 2015 recap on my favorite photos from my phone from each month, along with a little verbal snippet from my memory. We'll see how it goes though, because pregnant brain and all, ha! All I can say is thank God for all these pictures to look back on because if someone were to ask me what happened last year, I honestly wouldn't be able to remember everything.

I may have to do this in two parts haha, these are gonna be some long ass posts. So here are some things that happened during the months of January and June 2015!

New years eve 2014 - I stayed with Boo while he closed and the homies came to hang with us.

Visited East Hills Mall. So creepy and abandoned. They had a store that sold fans and lawn mowers.

I learned how to cable knit. This was my first beanie!

I went to Palmdale to celebrate my Brother's 30th birthday (right)

-------------------------- FEBRUARY --------------------------

The girls (sans Peepeehead) took their first beach trip to Morro Bay. We were going to stay in Alex's boss' condo but the key didn't work so we ended up staying in a hotel nearby. The first room was pretty funny because there was "feces on the toilet!" (Girl Alex, haha). So, they moved us to another room where we opened a bottle of wine each, ate pizza and girl talked all night. Me and Kandi ended up being the last ones to go to bed, just finishing our wine bottles and enjoying the rain.

Next day wasn't so pleasant for me because I lost my phone. My drunk ass I went outside to smoke and left my phone (my brand new iPhone 6!) outside on the patio, while it was raining! Thankfully when Girl Alex went to check us out, she tricked me for a second that no one returned my phone. But someone did and she totally had it! It was funny and I was so relieved! Then we went to go eat some grub and coffee and we went back to Alex's boss' condo which was so nice! Me and Momo left that day while the girls stayed behind, it was a short fun trip. Can't wait for the next one!

We celebrated Guy Alex's bday at the Padre. I didn't drink because I gave it up for Lent. Then we moved it down to Dagnys where the buckwildness continued, haha. Fun times!

On St. Patrick's day we departed for San Jose for my Uncle's viewing/funeral.

This was the year I turned my Mom on to In and Out. She never had it until last month and after her first try, her addiction grew. She absolutely LOVES In and Out. That's where we go whenever we eat out now, which I don't mind because I loooove burgers!

Girl Alex made us all pins. My only green I wore all day.

RIP Uncle Edmund, you are truly missed! It was very cool seeing the cousins and family up North. I think the last time I saw them was Uncle Manny's funeral which was I think 5+ years ago.

I had to drive my Aunty Qlynne back to Palmdale before we went home to Bakersfield. We ended up staying the night at her house and before we went home, we watched Cinderella, which made me cry like a baby!

Boo found us a new dining room set from a local antique shop.

I don't know how this happens but every Easter, Jasper gets sick. He was so lethargic and didn't want to get up. Thankfully it went away in a day.

We stopped by a diner on the way to the beach.

Kandi girl turned the big 30, woot woot! She got a bouncy house for her day and it was so fun watching the girls do flips and jump around. These were the only pictures I had on my phone because most of them were videos.

We put a t-shirt on Ptolemy and he loved it, NOT.

The only picture I had from working at Celebrate CSUB and of all things, it was a dead bird. It was pretty fun though except it was rainy and I had to miss Momo's bday lunch.

Girls came over for some Diva time.

I don't know if you can see it in this picture, but this was the first night I found this baby praying mantis taking refuge in my succulent garden. Little did I know he was going to stay for a pretty long time. It was cool watching him grow.

Melissa threw a surprise birthday party for Gustavo. It was a cute little picnic in the backyard with their family and friends and Gustavo's parents cooked a wonderful meal.

Our department got free tickets to the Jazz Festival. It was me and Boo's first time. We had some good food and drinks and of course Boo had to have ice cream, haha.

Baby girl Ash's bday at Tony's Pizza, woot woot! Girl Alex made her an amazing ding dong cake and it was soooooo yummy! (I stole this pic from Girl Alex too ha!)

My Mom and I went to San Diego to celebrate Milli's birthday.

We ate at Stacked which was a burger joint where you order everything through an iPad.

We also visited the Aquarium and went for ice cream but I don't know where those pictures went :(

My Mom ended up staying for another week so on my way home I hung out with Maricar for a little bit. We went to get coffee and then we found a cute pub called the Black Knight where we stopped for beer and watched basketball.
