Thursday I decided to take the day off so I could go with Andrew to Camarillo to pick up the second pressing of his record, Destroy All Art.
Last time we came pretty late so we didn't get the tour but this time, we got to tour the pressing plant. She took us through the plating, the room where they were making the vinyl records, the sound testing and stuffing/packaging. Didn't know they put so much love into creating vinyl. Made Andrew more confident in using them for future records he wants to put out.
After, we checked out old town Camarillo which was a super cute area. We found a yummy coffee shop called Element Coffee and we walked down a block of antique stores. We didn't find anything.
Except this creepy doll.
And this interesting art piece.
After, we walked the beach, enjoyed the chilly weather and sounds of the ocean. We were going to climb the rocks that extended out to the ocean but then our better judgement got the rest of us and decided that it probably wasn't a good idea, haha. There's something about the ocean that helps me reset. It just takes away my current anxieties and frustrations and I'm at peace when I leave. Plus, us being there with baby girl was really sweet (her second time, hehe).
Before we went home we wanted to have a nice dinner. Andrew found this restaurant called the Watermark. It was really yummy and the building was so awesome inside! I felt like I was in a huge city hall of some sort.
And of course we had to get some ice cream after.
We walked the streets of Downtown Ventura and since everything was closed down, we decided to get coffee at Peet's off of Victoria and Salzer's since we it's right next to the freeway. It was a good thing we stopped by because Andrew found a few records to flip for some good dough! By the time we got home I was so exhausted I crashed hard. We had such a wonderful time. It was so nice to get out of Bakersfield for a while, and I'm glad I got to go before it was too late for me to travel!
Aw you two love birds!
