Illustration Friday - Scary
This illustration was inspired by a scary dream I had when I was a little kid.
I had a dream of a creepy magician/clown man at my birthday party. But I saw right through him. He looked sick to me. I didn't trust him and I wanted him to leave. I even cried about it. But my parents thought he was funny. Everyone thought he was funny and made excuses for him. "Being wasted was part of the performance and it makes it funny for adults too," my Dad said. That creepy magician successfully charmed the audience with his common and boring tricks so that the awkward truth that he was wasted and stumbling around didn't phase them one bit. I knew he was drunk or on drugs and I'd see him try to sneak into an alley to have a cigarette or take a swig of booze. Towards the end of the dream, he called me up from the audience and told me to sit down on a chair. With the audience watching and all, he whispers in my ear that he's going to point a fake gun at me and promises, when he pulls the trigger, a flag that says "BANG!" will pop out. When the time came, he made me look straight down that barrel and I just knew that gun was real and it was loaded with bullets. The last things I saw and heard were bright blurry lights and the never ending black hole at the end of that barrel, along with the muffled giggling of the audience and him cackling at me. I close my eyes, hear a loud gunshot and I wake up with a jolt.
The dream left me scared for days.
He's not very scary looking but I have trouble drawing scary things, haha.

Whoa. I'm glad he's not too scary looking because that dream is scary enough. Yikes! I do like the drawing, the colors are great! I really like his hat. That poor bunny, I hope he makes an escape soon and finds a nice home.
