Ash Wednesday

After Ash Wednesday Mass, my Tatang and I watched some show on the Food Network. He's been watching that channel a lot lately. Maybe because since his oral surgery, he hasn't been able to enjoy the foods he normally eats due to his Dentist is taking his sweet ass time with his new dentures. Hopefully his next appointment will be the last of the adjustments and my Tatang will have his brand new set of teef.

Today he was being really funny. We watched a lady make a lemon mint cake and when she took a bite of her masterpiece, my Tatang would take a bite with her and make chomping noises, imagining he was eating the food she just cooked. Then he'd laugh...He told me he was filled with envy because right now he cannot eat some of the food he sees on the TV.

So, I went home and instead of taking a nap (because I've been battling my sinuses since last night and I had a nasty headache all day), I whipped him up some chocolate cupcakes with homemade cream cheese frosting. I tried to make them as soft and moist as possible. I can't wait to deliver them tomorrow and I hope he likes them!

My parents' dog, Tao, has Cherry Eye. This is the first time I've ever heard this term. When we were really young, we used to have a beagle that had the same thing, but I didn't know what to call it. I just called it a pizza bubble.

Poor Tao! Tomorrow he's going to have surgery on his eyes AND his balls! Geez, what a day that pup is going to have. Anyway, my Mom sent me this picture of him last night because they were freaking out on what that red bump could be. I had no clue what it was, I thought it was pink eye or something.

Well, today my Dad took Tao to the vet to get his eye checked.

I texted them both, "Hey, how's Tao doing?"

My Mom text me, "He has Cherry Eye, Google it."

I laughed so hard when I read that! Payback time and she got me! I don't know how many times I've said, "Just Google it" to my parents every time they ask me about something or how to do something.

Monica also sent us a picture of Kenzi's teeth and updated us on her visit to the Dentist. Cavities! Reminds me of when I was a wee one. Hiss at the dentist!

I finished up watching Glee, New Girl and Once Upon a Time and now I think I'm ready to pass out and shut my eyes for a while, at least until Andrew comes home from closing up shop.

And with that, I leave you with this. I cannot wait to attempt some of these popsicles! Especially the cereal one!
